Wild Girl by Patricia Reilly Giff

Lidie leaves Mexico to join her father and brother in New York where they train racehorces. She never thought her new life would be so difficult and unfamiliar. Can a special horse help her feel at home?

  1. Book review on Wild Girl
    By:Abby
I read Wild Girl by Patricia Reilly Giff. This is a book about a girl named Lidie who immigrated from Mexico to the U.S. Her dad and her brother came to the U.S before her and didn`t know she had learned how to ride horses. When Lidie came to the U.S her dad gave her a horse that was small, weak, and slow. There was a horse named Wild Girl that she really loved and wanted to ride instead of the one her father gave her. She adored Wild Girl but never got a chance to ride her. This is a really good book that I think you should read.

  2. WILD GIRL REVIEW

In the book, Wild Girl by Patricia Reilly Giff, Lidie, who lives in Mexico, is going to move to New York City to live with her brother and father. She thinks everything is going to be great and she is going to have a great time, but when she gets there everything takes a turn the wrong way because everything is so different! The language is different, people do different things, and it’s so crowded compared to back home. She tries to fit in, then her dad buys three horses and one is for her. They don’t know Lidie can ride but she finds one horse that is big and wild, named Wild Girl. Her dad won’t let her ride Wild Girl because she so crazy. Will Lidie ever fit in and will her dad let Lidie have Wild Girl? Read the book and find out!

  3. In this book, The main characters are Lidie, her brother Rafael, and her dad Pai (the horseman). The main setting is in Queens, NYC. In the story, Lidie the main character is in Brazil. Her dad and her brother Rafael left her in Brazil to try and make some more money and work with horses. Then, they will have Lidie come out. Then she flies out but she doesn’t know any English at all. So, it was very hard to live in America. But, will this horse that her dad named Wild Girl help her dad and brother realize that she is not a little girl anymore? My favorite part was when she first came to America and her first reaction to her room. On the walls were Snow White and the 7 dwarfs on the wall. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate this a ten. It was very well written. I would recommend this to people with a soft spot for animals. I enjoyed this book very much.

  7. Wild Girl is a book by Patricia Reilly Giff. It takes place in Mexico and then the setting changes to New York. The main characters are Lidie who is a horse lover, and father and brother. There are some many important, one thing that is when they move. I wouldn’t have recommend this book to people.
